Windows XP OPENVPN Setup Tutorial

STEP 1

Download OpenVPN official client. Run the downloaded file to start installation as follows.

STEP 2

Download OpenVPN config file from "Client Area" unzip it and choose the desired port-protocol directory. If that protocol port is blocked on your network you can choose the others and try.We suggest to use OpenVPN UDP ports for connecting to servers which are on other continents(Ping latency over 100ms).

STEP 3

Copy selected OpenVPN config files to the openvpn config directory - "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config"

STEP 4

Go to Start -> All Programs -> OpenVPN and start OpenVPN GUI. You may receive the following message: OpenVPN GUI is already running. In the toolbar, you should now see a symbol for OpenVPN (two red screens). Right click on the symbol with the mouse, choose server you want to connect and click Connect.

STEP 5

Enter your VPNConnected username and password and click OK. The OpenVPN GUI icon in the tray will turn green once the secure connection is established. To disconnect, just right click on the OpenVPN server you were connected and select Disconnect.

NOTE

Please note that current OpenVPN Gui does not support more than 50 configs connections and you may notice an dialog about this. Please delete the config files which you do not have intend to connect from the config directory.
